There are many people who express interest in attending Burning Man, but it takes a very specific person who is daring enough to make the trip. This year, a group of senior citizens decided to take a tour of the radical outdoors festival in an air-conditioned van, and took cameras with them to document the experience. Did they go to see the “art installations,” or the sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll that the festival is known for? I’ll let you be the judge.

74 year old Tsutomu Tosuka won first place in the senior category of Japan’s Masters Bodybuilding Championships this past weekend. Though he might be touched with a head of silver hair, Tsutomu has proved that he is made of gold.

When was the last time you went on a 150-mile bike ride? How about 350 miles? Just as I thought. The ultimate bike club in Pittsburg has been hitting the pavement hardcore, but the catch is that you must be 55+ to join. While the group might not be made up of hipsters, I’ll say they’re doing a damn great job of keeping it real. How many times do I have to tell you: Seniors are serious business.

We’ve seen it all, from Snakes on a Plane to Snakes on a Train, but how about Snakes in a Senior’s home? Occupants at an old folks home near Manitoba love entertaining guests, but not of this serpentine kind. Garter snakes have been making their way through the nooks and crannies of granny’s apartment, and while some have made themselves rather comfortable in the beds, kitchens and hallways of the unsuspecting seniors, others have been met with a bloodier end.
“I wouldn’t want them leaving feces around my home,” comments one senior.
Neither would I.

With so many unfilled positions in the geriatric industry in Japan, General Robotix has invented an $8,000 robot to replace Jillian Michaels DVDs. Standing 2-feet high, it gives Asian seniors a chance to pick on someone their own size.
This leaves us to question: Is technology really the future of the healthcare industry?
Watch. The seniors are trying to relate:

Track & Field has almost always been a sport tainted by steroid abuse and while the problem is usually related to young athletes, the recent U.S.A. Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which had participants more than 100 years old, raised questions about the fidelity of senior competitors. For one reason or another, a senior might take several prescription drugs, but these often contain steroids. For senior athletes participating in the games, one begins to question just what prescriptions and how many are being taken.

The Wii has caught the youthful nation by storm and these photos show that it is also bringing geriatrics to an entirely new level. Technology has always been a major factor in the generation gap between the Baby Boomers and Generation Z, but the installation of Wiis in retirement communities might suggest an unusual integration of the two groups in a most unlikely place. The seniors certainly aren’t complaining.
